This is our go-to burger joint in Snohomish, for sure. Lots of beers on tap and a robust menu, and they say the place is supposed to be haunted! The decor is pretty cool, but rather dusty and lots of spider webs (come on guys, clean up a little bit!!). During festivals this place gets jam-packed, and they usually have live music. I guess there’s another part of the bar downstairs from the street level, but I’ve never been down there, so I can’t give a review of that. My biggest complaint is that there is hardly ever enough waitstaff to accommodate such a large dining room. Sometimes the wait for food and drinks is much too long, but boy do they have tasty burgers! I’m going to keep going back until I see a ghost! – Martin N. Seattle, WA
Stopped in to see some live music. Thursday nights rock! Had a great burger and the service was excellent! Cool historic building and amazing staff. Can’t wait to come back! – Jeff B. Redmond, WA
Went to Snohomish for the first time with my fiancé the other day, cute town. We stopped in The Oxford Saloon for lunch. It was our first time here. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It’s how bar food SHOULD taste (but rarely does) and look for that matter. It looks like an old bar, who cares, I’m there for the food.
I had the French Dip sandwich with fries. It was AMAZING! I will defiantly drive 30 minutes out of my way to go back, next time I have a craving! Perhaps for music as well?! — Kathryn P. Mt. Vernon, WA
This is a hidden gem in Snohomish, you need to make time to come here when Swingtime Express is playing their lovely swing music! The atmosphere is wonderful and everyone is very welcoming. They have also managed to keep it very vintage old west.
While walking around Historic Downtown Snohomish, my daughter and I got hungry and had to make a choice. There are several places on 1st Street to eat but the reviews pointed us to The Oxford. The Oxford was opened in 1890 and has some very cool visuals like a full 6′ tall knight in armor on the ceiling.
Since it was early we were the first people to be seated. The waitress was friendly and prompt letting us sit wherever. She took our order as we looked around at the great old signs and photos. My daughter got the Chicken Bacon Avocado sandwich and I got the Angus Beef Double Bacon burger. When the plates were put in front of us, before the first bite, I said “I will be back!”.
My burger, perfectly topped with fresh lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo and the best thick bacon I think I ever had on top of 2 delicious beef patties. I really should have taken a picture of this. My daughter’s sandwich was a full chicken breast on each half with the same thick bacon and fresh avocado on Texas style toast. It was mouthwatering to look at!
The Oxford has live music on the weekends as well as providing a great place to hang out. – Mike V. Port Orchard, WA
